Apple Streusel Squares Recipe
The holidays are here and it’s time to get out all our favorite recipes. This Apple Streusel Square Recipe is a big hit for Christmas but is just as good for a Tuesday night dinner (no special occasion).INGREDIENTS:
2 Cups of Graham Cracker Crumbs
¾ Cup Butter, Melted
½ Cup Finely Chopped Pecans
1 (8 oz.) Pkg. Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Softened
1 (14 oz.) Can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 Large Eggs
1 (21 oz.) Can Apple Pie Filling
½ Cup Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
½ Cup All Purpose Flour
¼ Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
¼ Cup Cold Butter
½ Cup Dried Cranberries
1/3 Cup Chopped Pecans
DIRECTIONS:
* Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
1. Line 13 x 9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. Combine graham cracker crumbs, butter and finely chopped pecans in small bowl.
3. Press graham cracker mixture evenly onto bottom of prepared pan.
4. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy.
5. Gradually beat in sweetened condensed milk and eggs until smooth.
6. Pour over prepared crust. Spoon apple pie filling over cream cheese layer.
7. In a separate medium bowl, combine brown sugar, flour and cinnamon.
8. Cut in cold butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
9. Stir in cranberries and pecans. Sprinkle over apple layer.
10. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden. Do not over bake.
11. Cut into squares and serve warm with ice-cream or a dollop of Cool Whip whipped topping.
* Serves 12.
