Nanny’s Baked Apples Recipe

Can you smell the apples baking? I love that smell. The cinnamon combined with the apples makes my mouth water.  This recipe has been requested by my children more than most other recipes. It’s so quick and easy, you and your family will love it too.

Baked Apples

Baked Apples

Things You’ll Need:
5 medium apples (3 large or 7 to 8 small apples)
2 tbsp. of butter
2 tsp. of cinnamon
2 tsp. of sugar
1/4 cup of water

Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. This baked apple recipe can also be made on your stove top which saves electricity.
Step 2
Choose your apples. I like to use at least two types of apples like Pink Lady and Granny Smith Green apples. Wash your apples off. You can peel them or leave the peelings on, it’s up to you. Cut your apples in half and then in half again (quartered). Now cut them into bite-size pieces.
Step 3
Put 1/4 cup of water in the bottom of the baking sheet. Add the apples, 2 tbsp. butter, 2 tsp. cinnamon and 2 tsp. sugar. You can always add more cinnamon and sugar if you like.
Step 4
Cover and bake for 30 minutes (or until apples are tender). Let cool for a few minutes then serve. Sit back and watch this baked apple recipe become a family favorite at your home. If you choose to cook them on the stove top, cover them and turn the heat to medium until it starts to boil. Then turn them back to simmer for about 20 minutes (or until the apples are tender).

Tips & Warnings
1. For an extra sweet treat, once you serve it onto a plate, drizzle caramel syrup over the apples.
2. This tastes just as good without adding any sugar.
3. As always, be careful when removing hot things from the oven.
4. CAUTION: People may request this for all family gatherings.
