Chocolate Peanut Butter Mice
Transform these chocolate-covered peanut butter balls into sweet little mice with some well placed candy. These super sweet little mice are as much fun to make as they are to eat.
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon Paraffin Wax
48 peanut butter balls (just roll the fudge into balls and refrigerate)
Wooden skewers
48 M&M’s Minis
Black shoestring licorice
24 dry-roasted peanut halves
DIRECTIONS:
1. Place the chocolate chips and Paraffin Wax in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 1 minute. Remember to put a napkin or loose lid on your bowl to prevent splatters.
2. Stir and microwave for 1 minute more. Remember to put a napkin or loose lid on your bowl to prevent splatters.
3. Stir until smooth.
4. For each mouse, roll a piece of peanut butter fudge, making a small point for the mouse’s nose, and thread them onto a skewer.
5. Dip them into the melted chocolate and place on a waxed-paper-lined baking sheet. While still warm, decorate it.
6. Take two peanut halves and place them on either side of the mouse head (these are the ears).
7. Use two mini-M&Ms for the eyes.
8. Use the licorice for the tail.
9. Let cool on wax paper in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
10. Serve or place in a small gift box as a gift.
* We put them in gift small boxes and hung them on the tree on Christmas Eve before the grandchildren came over. Them before they left, they got to chose a box and eat the mouse inside.
* They also work great as party favors for children parties or a snack for a children’s Sunday school class.
