Just imagine the fun you and your family will have decorating this adorable snowman cake. Each cake is a unique masterpiece.

This cake takes roughly 3 hours from start to finish and serves 16.

INGREDIENTS:

1 pkg (18.25 oz) Cake Mix (plus ingredients to make cake)
1/4 Cup All-Purpose Flour
1/4 Cup Sugar
Nonstick Cooking Spray with Flour
3 Long Wooden Skewers (Chopsticks work great)
Assorted candy

DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

2. Add flour and sugar to the cake batter and prepare cake mix according to the directions on the package.

3. Coat your large glass batter bowl (it must be oven safe),  your small batter bowl (must be oven safe) and a custard-size bowl (must be oven safe) with the non-stick spray with flour.

4. Pour 1/2 cup of the batter into the custard cup. Pour 1 1/2 cups of batter into the small batter bowl and the remaining batter into the large batter bowl.

5. Place cakes in the the oven keeping the smallest one in the front.

6. BAKE: Smallest cake for 20 to 30 minutes; Medium-size cake for 35 to 45 minutes; Largest cake for 45 to 55 minutes or until the tops spring back when gently pressed.

7. Cool cakes in bowls on cooling racks about 5 minutes. Remove from bowls and and cool completely on cooling racks.

DECORATE:
1. Using a butter knife, trim off the bottom of the cakes to help the cakes sit on top of each other  flatly.

2. Place your largest cake on your serving platter. Spread a layer of icing on the top of the largest cake.

3. Place the medium cake on top of the icing. Put a thin layer of icing on the top of the medium cake.

4. Place the small cake on top of the medium cake.

5. Push three wooden skewers or three chop sticks straight down the center of the three cakes in a triangular pattern (the skewers or sticks should poke out of the top of your snowman slightly). You can cut the sticks if they are too tall.

6. Spread icing all over the snowman cake. Make the icing thick enough to hold the decorations. If you are able to, swirl the icing with half circle strokes.

7. Using your candy, decorate your snowman. M&M’s and Skittles work well for the eyes and mouth. Candy Corn looks great for the nose. Pretzle sticks work well for the arms. Miniture Oreos look adorable as the buttons.

* Be creative and have fun!
