Tortellini Bake Parmesano Recipe
Tortellini Bake Parmesano is a great alternative to lasagna or spaghetti. It’s easy to make and tastes great! Your family will think they are at a 5 star restaurant. This recipe serves four.
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 lb. of lean ground beef
1 pkg. (12 oz) fresh or frozen cheese tortellini or ravioli
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
1 container (26 oz.) Ragu spaghetti sauce with four cheeses
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 small zucchini, sliced
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/3 cup (about 1 1/2 oz) grated Parmesan cheese
Step 1
The first step for making Tortellini Bake Parmesano is to cook the pasta according to the package directions. Rinse and drain.
Step 2
While the pasta cooks, brown your ground beef with onions, oregano and garlic in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain and season with salt and pepper.
Step 3
Add spaghetti sauce and zucchini. Cook until thickened, about 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Step 4
In an oiled 2-quart microwavable dish, arrange half of the pasta and top with half of the sauce and half of the Parmesan cheese (kind-of like layering a lasagna).
Step 5
Repeat the layers ending with the Parmesan cheese. Cover.
Step 6
Microwave on High 8 to 10 minutes or until heated through. If your microwave doesn’t rotate as it cooks, rotate the dish halfway through cooking time.
Step 7
Serve with a salad and breadsticks.
SHORTCUTS:
1. Double the recipe, freezing half. Thaw in the refrigerator while you are at work (allow extra time in the microwave if the dish is chilled).
2. Prepare before work or the night before and refrigerate (allow extra time in the microwave if the dish is chilled).
